1. Introduction

At Watoto Unity Foundation Tanzania (WUFT), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data of our website visitors, physical donors, international partners, and volunteer applicants. This privacy charter details how WUFT (referred to as "we", "us", or "our") collects, safely stores, uses, and safeguards information in strict alignment with the Tanzanian Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and international guidelines.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information directly when you interact with us on our digital interfaces. This includes:

• Identification & Contact Details: Name, physical address, email address, and active telephone numbers when you register for a pledge, sign up to volunteer, or write to us.
• Financial Notification Logs: Verification details (such as bank transaction slips, preferred payment channels, and contribution amounts) captured voluntarily through our contribution forms. We do *not* collect or store full credit card/prepaid numbers or PIN details on our servers.
• Security & Device Information: IP address, browser footprint, and captcha verification tokens collected to defend our forms against digital abuse.

3. Child Privacy & Media Protection

WUFT operates with strict adherence to child welfare standards. As a child-focused NGO, the privacy and security of minors are our ultimate priority:

• All media (images and videos) featuring orphans and vulnerable youth displayed in our gallery or campaign channels are captured with lawful oversight and under direct organizational permission.
• We never publish critical, identifiable personal data (such as specific school class names, localized family home locations, or surnames) of minors on public platforms to maintain a solid layer of protection.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect solely to execute our humanitarian and community welfare purposes, specifically to:

• Validate, record, and transparently attribute received donations to community projects.
• Evaluate and process applications from individuals seeking to join WUFT as local or international volunteers.
• Answer direct messages, process requests, and send critical program or regulatory updates.
• Mitigate spam, unauthorized transactions, or security breaches.

5. Storage and Security of Data

Your personal data is handled as strictly confidential. WUFT employs industry-standard technical measures (such as SSL/TLS data transport encryption, firewall architectures, and rigorous database credential limitations) to shield your data against unauthorized extraction, leakage, modification, or exposure. Physical documents and donor files are safely locked and accessible only to verified staff.

6. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, lease, trade, or share your private data with third parties for marketing or tracking purposes. Your details are shared only when strictly necessary for operations:

• Payment Verification: Selected bank details and transaction receipts may be presented to our banking channel to resolve matching donation receipts.
• Service Providers: Standard third-party security utilities that help secure the website.
• Legal Compliance: We may share data if demanded by competent legal authorities in accordance with the statutory laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Under local and international laws, you maintain clear data rights. You have the right to:

• Inquire if we hold your personal data and request a readable copy.
• Request corrections to any inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete personal data.
• Request that we permanently erase your personal contact records from our mailing or contact systems.

To exercise any of these privileges, write to us directly at info@watotounity.or.tz with the subject line "Personal Data Request".

8. Cookies and Tracking

Our website may use tiny tracking files called "cookies" to evaluate visitor metrics and improve overall platform browsing speeds. Cookies do not scan your hard drive or extract private parameters. You can disable cookies at any time inside your personal browser options.

9. Revisions to This Policy

WUFT reserves the right to review, update, or revise this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect shifts in technology, organizational programs, or statutory regulations. Any updates will become immediately effective upon posting, indicated by the "Last Updated" timestamp at the top of the page.
